The environmental permitting process for construction and new development can be difficult to navigate. SME’s expert staff can guide clients through the channels of regulations pertaining to the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, and other ever-evolving federal, state, and local regulations. SME has a history of consulting for new construction projects and remodeling work on private and public lands. As a full service consultant, we can help with site design, Phase I/II and Modified Environmental Site Assessments, biological assessments, wetland delineations, and soil testing to guide our clients through the environmental compliance process from start to finish, saving them time and money on the front end of project planning. SME’s knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations can help our clients to foresee issues and avoid conflicts that may result in costly fines or the need for re-designing projects.  We will ensure that our clients will not encounter costly environmental violations that may hold up construction once started. Members of our staff hold current certifications in asbestos inspection, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).  We offer construction monitoring services in the fields of radiological, noise, groundwater (monitoring well and piezometer installations), soil, gas, and surface water for Best Management Practices (BMPs).  Our professional staff can meet the needs of any size of construction project.
